Travelling Film Festival

Cinema lovers in Orange are in for a treat as the Travelling Film Festival (TFF) returns to Odeon 5 Cinemas, Orange on 11-13 August, as part of the Winter Fire Festival.

The diverse and acclaimed program of films curated for Orange audiences represents the highest class of world cinema – from homegrown hits to international award winners from Canada, Iran, Poland, Norway, and more!  Showcasing nine selected feature films and three impressively realised Australian short films, prepare to spend your weekend captivated by the big screen. 

This year’s Opening Night celebrations including drinks and nibbles will kickstart the 2023 Festival with the NSW-shot Carmen, an exhilarating debut feature directed by acclaimed choreographer Benjamin Millepied.  Oscar nominee Paul Mescal (Aftersun) and Melissa Barrera (In the Heights) star in the visionary retelling of the tragic novella. With a surging score by Nicholas Britell (Succession, Moonlight) and featuring Sydney Dance Company artists, this fiery, romantic thriller defies categorisation as it finds contemporary resonance for this classic story. Producer Rosemary Blight (The Sapphires) and actor Marina Tamayo will be in attendance to introduce the film and answer audience questions.

Other must-sees include the internationally acclaimed romance PAST LIVES that is garnering acclaim and Oscar buzz around the world. The Academy Award nominated EO follows a donkey on an epic and intrepid journey across Europe.
