The first of a series of meetings community meetings to gain feedback on updated plans footpaths and cycle ways in Cabonne Shire will be held tonight (10 March 2020) at Molong from 5.30pm.
The meetings, which will review the draft Pedestrian Access Mobility Plan (PAMP) and Bike Plans for Cabonne’s towns and villages, will also be an opportunity to suggest any additional pathways that communities believe should be considered for inclusion in the plans.
The Molong meeting will be held at the Molong Council Chambers this evening, while the Eugowra meeting will be held in St Joseph's School Hall on Wednesday 11 March 2020 at 7pm and the Canowindra meeting will be held at Canowindra Bowling Club on Thursday 12 March 2020, starting at 5.30pm.
If you can’t attend, you can view the draft footpath and cycle path plans on Council’s website and Facebook page and you can have your say by writing to Council, emailing council@cabonne.nsw.gov.au or making a comment on the Facebook page.
Cabonne Mayor Kevin Beatty said Council wanted as much feedback as possible.
"Anyone who uses a footpath or rides a bike in any Cabonne village has a stake in ensuring that the plans set out the right priorities for Cabonne’s communities," he said.
The plans are of particular interest for all pedestrians, especially mothers and children walking to school, pre-school or childcare, seniors and users of prams, strollers, bicycles and mobility scooters.
"We want to ensure these plans mean that future footpaths and bike ways are built where the community wants them and to do that we need your input," Cr Beatty said.
Cr Beatty said many people completed an on-line survey several months ago, which helped consultants Constructive Solutions to formulate the draft plans.
"This is a critical opportunity for you to have your say on the plans or suggest additional pathways," he said.
