Mount Canobolas access roads closed by snow and ice

Access roads to Mount Canobolas have been closed by snow and ice.

Boom gates were closed this morning (Tuesday 7 August 2018) and Cabonne Council staff will conduct an inspection this afternoon to determine whether the roads can be reopened.

The roads have been closed to help ensure motorists are not at risk of an accident or being stranded on the mountain.

Cabonne Council’s priority is the safety of road users. It will endeavour to open the roads should conditions allow it. However, if snow or ice make conditions dangerous, the boom gates on the access roads will remain closed.

Drivers are reminded it is an offence to drive past a road-closed sign.
