Policies
Policies explain the way Council works and make decisions.
A policy is a high-level strategic directive that establishes a principal-based approach to a subject. A policy should be adopted for any area of the Council’s operation where direction or purpose needs to be set in order to conduct Council business. They may also have significant public interest, a community focus or are required by legislation.
Policies are adopted by Council and the community are generally invited to comment on new policies, or changes to existing policies, before they are put into place.
